Björk Icon

This piece is the final project from my undergrad studies class Illustration I. We were instructed to choose a modern celebrity and illustrate them in the style of a religious icon, specifically in the style of the patron saint of the field the popular figure is known for. I painted Björk, the Icelandic singer, on top of some wood found dumpster diving. The image makes references to her infamous swan dress, and her digital music. For some finishing touches I applied a gold leaf border and framed it on top of an ornate iron floor mat.
